For vocalists,
dancers, baton twirlers, and instrumentalists
Virtually any piece of existing music can be edited into the 2:00 format.
Some of course will edit easier and are less time consuming than others.
My work is done with the “Pro Tools” computer program which
makes use of some the most current technologies available today. The main
things to remember when working with edits are:
- You never should
hear any sound whatsoever at the edit points.
- Do the edits
make musical sense?
- Does the rhythm
at the edit points remain constant?
- Do the edits
allow for the best sections of the song to be kept?
No matter, if you
are editing music for a singer, dancer, baton twirler, piano player, or
flautist the basic rule remains the same. The final product should sound,
as much as possible, as if it were originally made in the 2:00 format.

The
Process
Once a contestant mails me the original source that needs to be edited
I will listen to the music. Usually I can pretty much tell immediately
how much time will be involved. I will call or email the contestant back
within a day after receiving the music and give her an estimate. Once
she gives me the go ahead, it usually takes about one week to have the
music finished and back in the mail to her. |
